Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology was initially established in 1988 in Lady Reading Hospital & then was shifted to Hayatabad Medical Complex. Previously a 20 bedded unit later on upgraded to 34 beds & presently the largest Endocrine Unit of the Province.
Being the largest & first Endocrine Unit in the Province we deal with high patient burden of Diabetes & its complications, thyroid disease, adrenal & ovarian disease, testicular & pituitary disease. There are only five units in the country for Diabetes & Endocrinology. This is the only Department approved by the CPSP for Postgraduate Training in the specialty of Endocrinology & Metabolism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
We provide 24 hours emergency service for Endocrine emergencies which are referred from the whole province.

Tuesday: Journal Club, Growth Clinic/Continuous Glucose Monitoring System Clinic (latest articles from renowned journals are discussed)
Wednesday: Out-Patient Department
Thursday: Academic Ward Round, Discussion, High Risk Foot Clinic (Plasthysmography)
Friday: Table round, Discussion, Mortality/Morbidity Meeting
Saturday: Out-Patient Department
