Medical Teaching Institution Hayatabad Medical Complex Peshawar (MTI-HMC) achieved yet another landmark this time by being officially certified as ISO 9001:2015 accredited. It has been acknowledged that the services and facilities provided by the hospital are one of the best in the country. A team of experts from ISO led by Dr. Nadia Nisar and Hassan Faraz made the decision here on Friday during their audit inspection visit where the team inspected patient care, equipment, environmental compliance, management, employability, and other facilities before recommendation.
Medical Director MTI-HMC Prof. Dr, Shahzad Akbar on the occasion paid tribute to the Board of Governors MTI-HMC led by Sahibzada Saeed and all the administrative and clinical staff of MTI-HMC for their efforts in getting due recognition for the institution. He stressed that the institution will use this certification as a platform to further improve the facilities being provided to patients and with the constant input of the quality department, ensure that it is recognized as one of the best teaching institutions at the international level.
A lead auditor of the ISO team Dr. Nadia Nisar said that the healthcare facilities provided to the patients at MTI-HMC are one of the best she experienced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She appreciated the efforts of the leadership of MTI-HMC to ensure quality management in the hospital. She Said that the “Patient Facilitation Center at the hospital is an example for other hospitals of the province to facilitate patients under one roof”.
The Hospital Director Dr. Shahzad Faisal on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the quality management department of the hospital, and the administrative and clinical departments to put efforts into getting this achievement.
This has also been ratified by a number of third-party performances covering tertiary care facilities in the province. A couple of years back MTI-HMC and its teaching undergraduate college Khyber Girls Medical College were rated as the best public sector teaching institution in the country in an audit carried out by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). With this latest feather in the cap and being acknowledged by ISO certification the institution has led the foundation for building on the series of successes it has achieved over the course of time.
