After successful training on Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) the Medical Teaching Institute- Hayatabad Medical Complex (MTI-HMC) is all set to conduct an annual performance evaluation of all the employees of the hospital based on employees' skills, achievements, and growth, or lack thereof. A training session on the HRMIS was held for the heads of all departments and focal persons to explain the online process of the performance appraisal system. The Human Resource department of the MTI-HMC will monitor the overall online submissions of each department. Manager HR MTI-HMC Abid Ali said that this is not only the performance evaluation of an employee but an opportunity to enhance their skill set. He further added that this is a process to determine which employee has contributed most to the hospital growth, that employee could be rewarded upon the results as well he said. Hospital Director MTI-HMC Dr. Shahzad Faisal said that the exercise will help in giving employees' big-picture feedback on their work and to justify pay increases and bonuses, as well as termination decisions; ultimately quality of work will be enhanced he said. Medical Director MTI-HMC was of the view that the exercise comes under the performance management system that is intended to help hospital management to achieve its mission. "I am hopeful that this will identify any existing problems in the hospital to make more developments and provide a good health care facility”, he said. It is to mention here that MTI-HMC is a public sector 1280 bedded hospital of Peshawar with 36 clinical specialties including Covid-19 special facilities. The hospital has more than 3000 staff including clinical, administrative and class four, and the management decided to adopt a transformed performance appraisal system on an annual basis.
