Bahria Town Peshawar (PVT) limited started the Bahria Dastarkhwan at the Medical Teaching Institute- Hayatabad Medical Complex - in Peshawar on Tuesday. It was inaugurated by the Chief Operating Officer of Bahria Town Peshawar. Dr. Shahzad Faisal-Hospital Director, Dr. Shahzad Akbar- Medical Director, Awal Khan-Director Nursing, Dr. Zahid Aslam Awan- Head of Cardiac Rehabilitation Center (CRC)-HMC and other staff of the hospital attended the inauguration. Thousands of poor patients, their attendants and class iv would benefit from the Dastarkhwan, which will host one thousand people at the same time. The food would be provided at lunch and dinner. The Bahria Dastarkhwan has been established at MTI-HMC as poor and deserving people from far-off places like newly merged districts and from other side of the Pak-Afghan border arrive for treatment. Relatives, friends and sympathisers of the patients also come along. Being far away from their homes, these people arrange for their meals and spend a lot of money. Arrangements have also been made at the Dastarkhwan to cater to their food conveniently and free of cost twice every day. The Bahria Town has provided clean environment for seating, eating and washing of hands. The Bahria Dastarkhwans are also operating in MTI-Lady Reading Hospital Peshawar, where thousands of people get the benefit free food.
