Brief Introduction:

Department of obstetrics & Gynaecology,HMC is a state of art unit , serving patients from all over KPK & Afghanistan. It has been established in 1997 by professor Dr shafiq Ahmad as head of department.It is 38 bedded unit along with the patients in private rooms & day case surgeries. It also offers emergency services in  labour room esp. to labouring patients & all kinds of obs & gynae emergencies.This labour room is 16 bedded unit for receiving & dealing emergency round the clock .It is also equipped e facilities of ultrasound ,CTG &OT along with expertise & seniors input. The labour ward has 3 delivery tables, a neonatal resuscitation unit,a separate delivery room for patients with hepatitis B&C HIV & their neonatal resuscitation.

Services / Procedures:

Our further plan is to establish a specialized infertility centre & urogynaecology centre. In the premises of HMC.we have started IUI clinic, performed 5 cases of IUI till now .we have planned to train our trainees for this purpose in specialized infertility centre’s in Lahore & Karachi in order to serve our own patients.we have performed all kinds of urogynaeologyal Procedure like slings operations sacrocolpopexy ,sacrohysteropexy ,burch colposuspension successfully.

Gynae 'C' unit HMC is a recognized department of post graduate trainee, we large number of published research articles in various journels of Pakistan.We have a well organized record keeping excellent follow up.
